How many people here have seen this???
A couple weeks back I went to "Al-Masmak" which is a historical building in downtown Riyadh. The only reason I went was because it was in this social program of a Symposium I attended. I went with some friends, and we didn't even know what it was used for back in the day. So we took the tour and it was as if we were foreigners to our own country, looool, with picture taking and all. So the tour guide explained the whole deal how the late King Abdulaziz ambushed this place and took over rule region by region, all starting from here. All in all it was enlightening, and reminded me to read up on some history books. The cool part of this trip is that right in front of this building is a large area where they carry out the chopping. :P
Here's a pic

The place has something really strange. I lived my childhood in a nearby house, and still, every time I pass by it I sense the depth of this place which was the point of forming one of the largest and richest countries in the region.
